Counting

Monday’s Monday Madness: How many hours do I spend per week on the following… These will be guesstimates, obviously, I don’t normally time myself…

1. Watching television Varies between 1-2 and 20ish depending on what else is going on. Normally, I’d say, somewhere around an hour a day, somewhat more on a Friday, somewhat less on Saturday (there is nothing on on Saturdays).
2. Sitting at the computer Yikes. Uhm. 45 or thereabouts.
3. Reading a book As many as possible… Say 10, maybe, on average – a lot of them simultaneously as the television-watching (that goes for the “sitting at the computer” as well, I use the tv rather than the radio as background noise).
4. House work Including cooking, 7ish, excluding cooking, perhaps 2, probably less.
5. Cooking Ah, 5ish, then. More if I’m having people over for dinner, but that doesn’t happen very often.
6. Eating I eat quickly, most meals take me five minutes or so, I try to spend a little longer over dinner, so say 3-4 hours of actual eating – but although I finish my food in five minutes, I still stay at the lunch table for half an hour, for example.
7. Driving Duh. None. I don’t drive.
8. Working outside of your home 37.5, according to my contract – tends to be a bit more than that, though.
9. Blogging Less lately, but perhaps a couple of hours.
10. Sleeping 7×8=56… I wish. Somewhere around 40-45 is probably nearer the mark.

Voice in my head: that 70ies group (?) singing “Near a tree by a river there’s a hole in the gound where an old man of Arran goes around and around” over and over and over again, which I’m getting heartily sick of

As a hatter

Monday madness, on a Tuesday evening.

1. If I could write an instant classic effortlessly, I’d be so happy!
2. Maybe one day I will try my hand at canooing (actually, I already have, but I couldn’t think of anything else starting with c – and I’d like to try canooing again).
3. Before I started blogging, I used to start journals on paper and forget about them after anything from a day to several months. I probably have the world’s largest collection of started journals. Now I just blog.
4. Library fires sure make me scared!
5. If I could fly, I would fly to Arvika and visit L – anything else seems like it would be too tiring a trip.
6. If more people were narcoleptic, the world would be a better place. (Sleeping people don’t go to war.)
7. I thought this meme was madder than usual this week. (any letter will do for this one.)

Now, let’s have some tea.

Voice in my head: Vonda Shepard – I Only Want to be with You

As advertised

This is a public services announcement:

Robin will be 30 on April 10th this year. While she does not consider this a tragedy in any way (hey, birthdays are fun!), turning 30 can still be reckoned as something of a big deal. You are therefore strongly encouraged to regale her with gifts. To make things easier for you – anything from the following list would be a sure hit:

a Nokia 7210i (or other Nokia mobile phone with camera) I, uh, bought one…
– stuff from the amazon wish list
– good chocolate
real champagne
– Ardbeg Uigedail (or other good whisky – 1974 editions especially)
– Canon EOS 300D (pretty please with sugar on)
– one of these (or just a regular thumb drive of at least 64Mb)
– a DKU-5 (Nokia’s name) cable for connecting the mobile to a computer
– a 200×220 cm duvet-cover in non-nausea-inducing colours and designs
– 12″x12″ papers suitable for scrapbooking (and other scrapbooking thingamagigs)
– “Ta meg til havet” med Hanne Krogh and all the records Ballade (w/Lars Klevstrand, Lillebjørn Nilsen, Bjørn Grimstad and Åse Kleveland) made, especially “Ekstranummer” on CD (if they’re even available, I don’t actually know, used or new, I don’t care)
– USB mouse suitable for carrying around along with the laptop, i.e. either a cordless one or one where the cord is retractable, and prefereably one that’s not too bulky

We will now return to our regular programming.

Friday, at last

When was the last time you…

1. …went to the doctor?
Last Thursday.

2. …went to the dentist?
Just before Christmas.

3. …filled your gas tank?
Uh, never, don’t have a gas tank.

4. …got enough sleep?
This weekend, I guess, at least I got up quite voluntarily on Sunday.

5. …backed up your computer?
Completely? It’s been a while. Well, for my home computer. The one at work is automatically backed up. I do make sure I have a backup of the important files, though.
