I like that anarchy score…

It’s snowing again. It seems to have been snowing more or less constantly since last week, which is probably just an illusion. However, it is most definitely snowing now and the ground has most definitely been white for over a week, so I think we can assume this is… well… winter. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this. To a certain extent it bugs me. I like being able to walk in the streets without getting slush in my shoes and slipping and sliding all over the place, on the other hand there is no denying white snow (and except for in the streets, the snow is white) is rather pretty. And it would be nice to have a white Christmas for once – they’ve been quite scarce in recent years.

However, there is the slushy slipping and sliding part.

Mind you, what is likely to happen is that it will continue to snow prettily for another four weeks or so, and just before Christmas, 23rd December, say, there will be an almighty thaw and all the snow will disappear. Then it will reappear again on January 2nd, just a little late for New Year’s, and stick around until early May.

Bah humbug.

So, we’re sort of supposed to be moving to Trondheim. Well, we more or less have to, Martin’s just got a new job (yay!) there and I’ve told my employer I’m about to hand in my resignation. I just haven’t gotten around to actually handing it in yet. I guess I had better put that on my to-do list for tomorrow.

Question is how long it will take before I get a new job. That’ll be interesting. Still, I have a few feelers out and I suppose I’ll have to put more energy into this job-hunting malarkey once I’ve actually resigned (I have three months’ notice, so it’s not as if I’ll be unemployed next week).

Ah, well. Life. It’s a funny old game, isn’t it?

I wonder if Ronnie O’Sullivan has a bald spot. That would explain the ridiculous hairstyle (he’s got a “ponytail” that looks more like a bun on the top of the back of his head, just over the spot where a bald spot would most likely appear).

I don’t know if I mentioned the fact that I started scrapbooking? Well, anyway, while looking for info on scrapbooking I found scrapping.no, a forum for Norwegian scrappers, where I’ve been more or less active since April. When one of the other girls in Oslo suggested a purely social meetup (as opposed to a scrapping workshop) I thought “Why not?” and went along. And boy am I glad I did. It turned out that one of the other forum members is a girl I used to know but lost tough with a few years back. We met while we were both studying undergraduate English – she was studying in Oslo and I was, of course, in Trondheim, but we both went to the Norwegian Study Centre at York for three weeks and hit it off. This was back in 1995 (in the dark ages) and we managed to stay in touch for a while but due to excessive wanderlust on both our parts, keeping up with adresses became too much of a challenge at some point. However, great was the joy of meeting again so fortuitously, and we both vowed tol make more of an effort this time.

Another example of it being a small world is that Donna has suddenly taken up knitting in a big way, apparently because of this book. Which, incidentally, is also on my bookshelf, mainly because it contains a pattern for pippi stockings created by Theresa. Which all struck me as rather funny.
