For a minute there

I lost myself, I lost myself, I lost myse-e-e-e-e-e-elf :D

Last night's Radiohead was brilliant. We'll just forget the bit with the football results.

Hmmm, Tom York.

Oh, Alan Rickman. You might not have noticed from his performance as Snape (greasy hair), but (love) actually, he's rather sexy.

Work, friends, same difference

You don't get offers because you're desperate and barely holding on - you need to present a positive image at all times, or at least until you get the contract.

Music in my head: Danny de Munk singing the theme song for Ciske de Rat (...had ik maar iemand om van te houe/twee sachte arme om me heen/die mij altijd bescherme soue/ik voel me so verdomd alleen!)

Update a few hours later: Thank you, Lord, you work in mysterious ways! I got a great tip from the girl I had lunch with today, and I feel much more confident about the whole issue. Well, I've still got plenty of work to do in this area, but at least I've got a good lead on meeting new people with something to talk about.

Drought causes flouding

Come again?!?

Oh, yes, the continuous drought of the last couple of weeks has caused a few dikes to crack, flooding the homes of two thousand something people, leaving the river bed empty. Go figure.

The insurance companies are so afraid the claims will be more than they can manage, they have announced they will not honour any claims in relation to this flooding whatsoever. Dam(n)!
