To dos
I need to get straight in my head what we've still got left to do...:
- finish dress (yes, I actually started sewing it...)
- get supplies for and make headdress
- make invitations, mail them etc.
- fill out all the forms and send them (this probably ought to be done asap)
- organise transport, of ourselves and guests
- get info on what's there at the venue... are there coffee-makers? mugs? cutlery?
- view venue again and start getting seating plan and layout straight
- organise tablecloths
- food... must get decisions on this... who's doing what?
- decide on selection and buy alchohol and soft drinks (the latter can be done the week before, the former needs a bit more organisation)
- recruit bartender(s)
- make programmes
- write speech
- recruit people to help with the setting out and clearing away of food
- buy single-use cameras
- organise music: how, who and what?
- decide on readings
- finish gift-registry
- make decision on guest-book thing, buy supplies if necessary
- recruit baby-sitter/consider distraction alternatives for the kids (tv&video?)
- decide on processional/recessional
- "centerpieces": what to keep the flowers in? candles?
- buy hat for Martin (gloves? new socks? shoes? he should be ok for shoes, actually...)
- organise necessities baskets for the rest-rooms
- check out guest accommodation to find out how many can really be accommodated, book more if necessary
- gifts for helpers
Which seems like a lot. It will be easier to get things done once I'm installed in Trondheim after next weekend, though - the viewing of the venue, for example, which a lot of other decisions really hinges on. Yay, only one week until I'm actually living with my so-called "samboer" again... (Norwegian lesson of the day: Samboer n. Co-habitant partner, can mean just flat-mate, but normally means you share a bed as well as habitation. Mmm. Bed.)
