Correction
New headcount: 47.
Partly I'd miscounted, partly someone has had to withdraw (sadly) due to practical reasons. That's what you get for chosing a location "in the middle of nowhere". Never mind.
We might be in control or we might not. "The mothers" are having a planning meeting this evening, so I suppose they'll tell us tomorrow whether we do. At least they'll hopefully tell us what they've got control over and if there is anything we seem to have forgotten on the "to do" list.

Headcount
So, it looks like we'll be 51 at table, or 53 if my grandparents decide they feel up to it. A nice manageable number. Only thing is it makes seating awkward - we need another guest to make it an even number ;) Actually, I seem to remember Martin spontaneously inviting a couple of people for "coffee" when we attended one of his cousins' wedding (also for coffee) on Saturday - so perhaps we'll be more - a couple of people more or less on the night won't really make a big difference, though we'd need to know long enough in advance to add them to the seating plan, naturally.

Status
So far we have:
Yes: 36 (yes, that's including us)
No: 9
Not responded: 32 (of which we're pretty much assuming 11 are not coming)
If you responded to the save-the-date, by the way, and you haven't responded to the invitation, we are assuming you haven't changed your mind (i.e. if you said yes then we're assuming a yes, if you said no a no)...
And it's rsvp by the 10th, so I'm hoping for a few phonecalls in the next couple of days, or we'll have to make a few ourselves (and we both hate making phonecalls, so we'd be very happy not to).

London
So, I think I have all the fabric I need for the dress now. Soho Silks certainly yielded some lovely devoree velvet, now all I need to do is figure out exactly how to incorporate it in the design... Oh, and I need to find a way to colour my lining fabric, as it's all white cotton and it needs to be ivory in case some of it shows... Easy-peasy, I'm sure... Uh-oh. Well, I'll figure it out.
In other news, our guest list is getting close to completion, I think. I had a sudden flash of "oh, dear, we've forgotten..." the other week, but I think we've remembered practically everyone now. Good thing too, as I need to start planning for the Christmas card cum Save the Dates. I'm kind of planning on making my own paper, I just need to find the time (not to mention dig out the book press from the basement to squeeze the water out). And I need to find a webshop that sells paper cord, or find an alternative. Don't worry, I've got it all in hand. I think.
