A date
We have a date. At least, I've just booked the church. I tried sending an e-mail this weekend, but with no answer yet this afternoon I caved in to my impatience and phoned. The lady I talked to seemed to think I was overdoing the "well in advance" stuff a bit - but as I told her, I've never done this before (nor am I planning on doing it again) and my instincts just tell me I'd rather have anything that's decided on actually booked as well. It would be rather annoying to phone in six months and learn that during the last week they've suddenly become fully booked on the day we wanted.
So. A date. 18 June 2005, in fact. A little later than I had imagined, but we decided it was better to go with June as the weather is more likely to be friendly. We're getting married here (church and reception here), and April/May means a high probability for wet and windy (did anyone say snowstorms?) - June might also be wet and windy, but it's less likely to be so.
Right. Now to get someone (FMIL) to book the intended reception venue and then I can concentrate on obsessing over details (will obviously try not to obsess over details but am unlikely to succeed).
